Rowan Presland, Bsc Hons Dip HE

Rowan started out in youth work by working for The Princes Trust in a programme developed to tackle disaffection in schools. She later moved on to work for Ceredigion Youth Service as a Schools Youth Worker & has worked for RCT Youth Offending Service.

Rowan has a Diploma in Youth and Community Work and specialises in Intervention and Inclusion using her skills as a trained counsellor and Youth Worker, & has been trained as a Restorative Justice Facilitator and has facilitated school and community Restorative Justice Conferences. Rowan is also trained in Child Protection, Drug Awareness and Off Site Safety Management. She is a qualified Walking Group Leader and holds the British Horse Society Assistant Instructor qualification.

Rhydian Wilson

Former Chief Youth Officer of Ceredigion Youth Service, Rhydian has 6 years management experience, 16 years youth work experience and 22 years outdoor activity experience including mountaineering, walking, climbing, caving and paragliding. He is a qualified Mountain Leader & Holds the Single Pitch Award.

During his time with Ceredigion Youth Service he steered its development from a part time service into a fully fledged full time operation. He developed innovative local and national partnerships and initiatives, as well as being instrumental in ensuring the continued development which laid the foundation for the future of Ceredigion Youth Service.

Rhydian has been involved with the Duke of Edinburg's Award for 20 years, as a local Award group volunteer, a country Award officer, a Wild County Assessor and as the Mid Wales Wild Country Panel Secretary.He runs a voluntary youth club & climbing club in Tregaron.

Rhydian is married with 2 children, he is fully bilingual and lives in Ceredigion.

Simon Leather

Simon is a freelance, qualified Mountain Leader & holds the Single Pitch Award, he is our chief instructor on Expedition courses.

He has walked, climbed & wild camped extensively in Wales & Scotland for the past 25 years. He also has experience of walking & climbing in The Alps.

His vast experience & professionalism will ensure that all young people who meet him will learn a great deal about all aspects of expeditioning very quickly & efficiently & are sure to have a smile on their faces whilst doing it.
